Montana State Library
The Montana State Library’s Talking Book Library program offers alternative free reading materials on loan to Montana citizens who cannot read standard print materials because of a visual, physical or reading handicap. Materials include local and national audio books and magazines, Braille embossed books for adults, Braille Twin Vision books for children, descriptive videos and more. Newspapers in alternate formats are provided through the Montana Radio Reading Service and the Montana Association for the Blind/NFB Phone Newsline Service.

The 2009 Montana Legislature approved $323,000 in funding for Montana State Library’s Montana Talking Book Library program to provide Montana patrons with expanded local and national newspapers in alternate formats. The funds will be allocated as follows:
The Montana Radio Reading Service will receive $176,000 to provide expanded special radio signal broadcast of all Montana newspapers to Montana patrons.
